Generative engine optimization

GEO audit for one page

Generative engines can only quote what they can retrieve and parse. This free GEO check looks at snippet restrictions, canonical consistency, structured-data accuracy, and whether the main answer exists before client-side JavaScript.

Free single-page audit. The report includes SEO checks plus AI search readiness. No ChatGPT ranking guarantee.

GEO versus citation tracking

People often want “do AI answers mention my brand?” That is a visibility experiment against live models. It is not this page. What ships today is readiness: the access and content conditions that make a citation possible at all.

AEO is the access-and-answer side of the same report. Start there on the AEO audit page, or use the combined AI search readiness landing page. A labelled sample report shows the counts we display instead of a GEO score.

GEO-relevant checks

Page retrieval

Status, redirects, final URL, content type, and login or challenge responses.

Search-crawler policy

robots.txt for this path against Googlebot, OAI-SearchBot, and PerplexityBot.

Snippet restrictions

nosnippet, max-snippet, and data-nosnippet on visible copy.

Canonical consistency

Declared canonical versus the final fetched URL.

Readable main content

Whether the title, H1, and answer exist in the initial HTML.

Page purpose

Heuristic: does the page state its product, service, or question?

Structured data

JSON-LD syntax and whether prices match visible content.

Offer completeness

On commercial pages: scope, price or quote path, limits, and a next step.

Readiness checks do not guarantee inclusion in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, or Google AI Overviews. This is a single-page technical and content audit, not a citation rank or GEO score.

GEO questions

What is a GEO audit?
A generative engine optimization audit looks at whether a page is usable as a source: can it be fetched, is snippet text allowed, does structured data match the page, and is the main copy in the first HTML response?
Do you measure ChatGPT or Perplexity citations?
Not in this release. Those are paid API observations for a later visibility monitor. This page runs the free readiness checks that have to be true before citations are even possible.
Does a high GEO score exist here?
No. We show verified passes, issues, recommendations, and unverified owner-data checks. We do not publish a GEO score out of 100.
